 WELCOME BACK!!!

Recital Season

The recital season has begun and the dancers are getting their routines ready. Encourage your child to perform in front of you and other family members or friends. This helps them practice and gets them used to an audience. Please remember that your child’s attendance is very important! We will spend much of the instructional time on the recital dance. If your child cannot be at class, please call the studio and let us know. It is difficult to re-teach choreography when your child has missed several classes.

 Weather Policies

When Cabell County Schools are closed for snow or bad weather, dance classes may continue as scheduled. The studio’s phone and website will be updated by 12:00 noon to let you know if classes are cancelled. Please call or go online to get the current information. Phone calls will not be made to students.

 Zumba

Classes continue Monday and Wednesdays at 5:30pm.  The cost is $5 /class. Zumba is a class full of energy and excitement. It uses unique Latin moves and rhythms to dance your way to a fit body. No experience or registration is needed, and all classes are open to the public. Children and adults ages 12 and older are permitted to take class.

 Reminders

Please wear dance clothes to class. Ballet students need to wear their hair in a bun. Also, bring a water bottle to have during class breaks.

 Recital

The 2010 Dance Recital dates are May 21-22. The rehearsal will be Thursday, May 20 and the recital will be Friday, May 21 and Saturday, May 22. We will let you know soon which classes will be performing which night. Some classes will be doing both nights of recital. Please mark your calendars now.

Costumes

Costumes have been ordered. The balance is due by Jan. 15th. Balances were emailed or mailed to you. Please add the amount to your monthly tuition for one payment. When costumes arrive, students will try them on during class. If a costume is too big, it must be altered. Please allow for growing room. The studio does not provide alterations. If a costume is too small, an exchange can be made. Due to costume companies’ specific guidelines, exchanges will be at Mrs. Melissa's discretion. A great deal of time and energy is spent sizing and ordering costumes to ensure that each student has a costume that fits properly.

 Looking Ahead

February 8 -12 we will have a Valentine Exchange in dance class. Please bring a valentine or treat for each dancer in your class. Valentine bags will be provided. We will spend the last 15 minutes of the class exchanging. Please send something that can go home.
